Commercial license (Trading license )
Saudi Arabia provides a Trading or Commercial License to foreign investors under two categories: to pursue business activities in wholesale or retail either in partnership with a Saudi shareholder or independently with 100% foreign ownership. This Saudi business license permits foreign companies to trade in goods in both wholesale and retail markets in Saudi Arabia.
Requirements for Foreign Investment in Saudi Arabia
For 100% foreign ownership
- Theforeign company must have branchesin at least 3 different countries excluding Saudi Arabia
- A capital investment of at least SAR 30 million in the first year
- Capital investment of SAR 170 million over the next 5 years in the Saudi company
25% Saudi partner
- Capital investment of SAR 26,666,666 during the first year
- Shares held by foreign investors cannot be less than SAR 20 million
For 100% GCC-National Owned Companies
- Minimum capital of SAR 50,000
- All other rules same as for Saudi nationals
